JFURTERER.info

Doing things on a daily basis!

Why a .info page you ask?

Because they are freaking sweet, that's why!

I got the idea to separate my professional (look how good I am at doing things) site and my personality (look how quirky and fun I am) site after seeing somebody else's site who did the same thing, whom I've now completely forgot. However it turned out that my .info was ranking higher then my .com on Google and Yahoo! and decided that it worked great in parrellel to my professional site. To that end, I tried to make it somewhat supportive of my professional site by coding it entirely in the most modern and semantically awesome way I possibly can. That way it still serves as a dual role on the internets (YaY! I'm a part of something!) and another way for people to find my professional capabilities.

So part of that means generating content for, let's face it, what is, for all intents and purposes, a site for which there is no reason for it to exist (I used the word "for" 4 times in one sentence!). That's why all this meaningless copy is here.

So what's this JFurterer business all about?

Well it's about me of course!

I'm JFurterer, however there are a great number of other JFurterers. More specificly I'm John R. Furterer Jr, a pretty awesome guy living in NY (The state not the city, everybody always assumes the city.) where I do stuff and say things. More Importantly I make my living designoveleping interweb sites! Which sounds like a pretty cool job and it is! Despite what you may have heard it is not all sitting down alot and getting your retinas burned out of your head. It's actually a pretty interesting working environment that presents a lot of new challenges each day (and some old, persistent ones, damn you IE!).

These things you do on a daily basis what are they?

You know stuff and things...

Generally I start the day with a cup (or six or seven to a point where I shake uncontrollably) of coffee and head down into my posh office space (a cold basement) and do what everybody does. Check emails, news feeds and other feeds that feed my daily information appetite. Following that I get right down to business designing outstanding web sites (trying not to repeat the same large header with vector art design over and over again). I also try and get some writing in when I have an opportunity. Once I'm done for the day I make dinner, watch The Daily Show then get down to some hockey (NHL2k10 for the Wii!) before nodding off to bed. Exciting I know, jealous?
